curiosité et recherche perpétuelle la sculpture
me permet un décryptage ludique des physionomies
et des émotions. Cette recherche met en lumière
ce qui se trame à l'intérieur de l'être pour traduire
une dimension spirituelle et sensorielle. Autodidacte
dans cette création purement imaginaire, j'expose
depuis 1996, L'atelier d'Elisabeth DAYNES m'accueille
pour toute la partie technique de la réalisation
finale.

I start to see what lies underneath. Some of them
remain ghosts. The rest are living beings in flesh
and blood. The latter want more from me. They
want to see and they make this apparent in every
situation. They want to see. They want to be alive.
They want to discover all of life's mysteries.
Sculpture has turned from a hobby to a life long
quest. It is a way of deciphering the physical
and emotional self. This quest sheds light on
the intricate details that make up our being.
It is a way I can translate a spiritual and sensory
dimension.

SCULPTURES Denise Houssard Il n'est pas
facile d'expliquer avec des mots ce que j'exprime en modelant
l'argile. Je ne cherche pas à reproduire fidèlement la
réalité mais au contraire je tente de faire surgir des
images enfouies profondément en moi. Mes fantômes étaient
entièrement entourés de bandelettes de la tête au pied
à la manière des momies et, au fur et à mesure des années,
l'un après l'autre, ils ont retiré leurs bandelettes tout
doucement et j'ai découvert leur visage au fil du temps…
Certains sont des fantômes et restent éphémères, d'autres
sont des êtres de chair et de sang et demandent quelque
chose. Ils veulent voir. Ils insistent, attablés ou dans
d'autres situations. Ils veulent voir. Ils veulent exister.
Découvrir encore et encore… H Entre curiosité et recherche
perpétuelle, la sculpture me permet un décryptage ludique

I try to express when I am modelling clay cannot easily
be put into words. I do not seek to reproduce reality
accurately. On the contrary, I try to make the images
that come from deep inside me come alive. I like to think
of these images as ghosts. In the beginning, they are
covered from head to toe in bandages like mummies. After
some years, each ghost is gradually freed of these bandages.
After some time, I start to see what lies underneath.
